01 Interpretation
What I wanted to try and create was an interpretation of Messejana Portugal. I saw a lot of natural forms and shapes that I thought were fairly unique to this place so I drew from my findings to design these patterns.
The colors themselves came from again the settings I was in throughout the Algarve in Portugal, the warm reds, oranges and the cool blues.

While creating the textile, I was inspired to create something that I could leave behind for the community. It was important for me to brighten up the town in a unique way that was for children! My work is considered very bright, beautiful, and playful so I wanted to leave something behind that showed motion, lively energy and beauty to inspire young minds to create more after I leave.
